Social attribution: Springcast vs. the rest

A note before the table. Most podcast hosts offer referral data, they can tell you a listen came from "a website" or "Apple Podcasts." That's not social attribution. Social attribution means seeing which channel, LinkedIn, Instagram, your newsletter, drove your listens. That relies on shares being tagged automatically per channel, matched to listen events. Frequently asked about social attribution

When you share an episode via Springcast, the share is tagged automatically per channel. As people listen, Springcast shows which channel the listens came from in your dashboard. No manual tagging, no spreadsheets. Social attribution is included from the Scale plan.
Yes. All enrichment data is aggregated and anonymized before it enters your dashboard. No individual listener profiles are created or stored. Data is processed on EU-hosted infrastructure in the Netherlands, certified to ISO 27001. The enrichment approach follows GDPR Article 5 data minimization principles. Our standard Data Processing Agreement is freely downloadable; a signed DPA is available on Business.
It depends on how you promote. Listeners who arrive via a tagged share, from social posts, newsletters, or website embeds, get attributed to that channel. Listeners who discover you directly through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or a search don't arrive through a tagged share, so they show as "other sources." For actively promoted shows, 30 to 50% attribution is common. Springcast always shows the attributed vs. unattributed split so you know exactly what the numbers represent.
Yes. Social attribution covers your newsletter as one of its channels. Share the episode link in your newsletter, sent from whichever email tool you already use, and Springcast shows those listens under your newsletter source in the dashboard, alongside your other channels.
Yes, with one note. Instagram Stories with link stickers carry the tagged link. When someone taps the sticker and listens, it's attributed. Instagram feed posts don't allow clickable links in captions, so attribution there relies on Stories and Reels with link stickers.
Yes. Beyond the automatic per-channel tagging, you can create named campaigns, "Q2 LinkedIn push," "Guest episode series," "Conference promo", and group your shares under them. The dashboard shows campaign-level comparison so you can see which campaign returned the most listens for the effort.
